HD Editing for Drift Innovation

These days a video editor can use a Walmart computer to edit HD content. The days of $60,000 editing suites are gone and personal computing is well in stride. So a nice break for me is to get sent a video clip or two of action from around the world.

Granted that you need to have editing software and know how to use it. I choose Adobe over Apple as I’ve spent more time in Adobe. Both have their merits, but the PC route is actually less expensive and I think it renders faster. Time is money…

Non-profit Blog

Building a non-profit website as a favor someone has it’s perks when that someone is Jesus Christ. So I built this site so that I can keep a digital journal of testimonies from others that are inspiring to me, and I’d hope that the inspiration spreads to others through the power of the world wide web. This simple WordPress blog only took hours to build, but the content publishing can take anywhere between 20 minutes to two hours per post to create or republish.

6-hour race on the track and in the woods. The goal for me was to get as much POV footage for MyPOV360.com as they supplied the cameras. Out of 5 cameras, we ended up losing one to a hard crash. What’s worse is that the memory card flew out and was lost.

Cost Reduction + More Control + Features

The age old problem with the “Wizard of Oz” webmasters is that they shouldn’t be the only ones behind the curtain pulling strings. So when Dina asked me if there was an easier way, I said “of course.” Now Dina and her staff can access and update the menu daily, if needed. They also have plenty of room to grow their site with a horde of features.

The other thing that I find a lot of restaurants and business need to do is police their Google Business Listings. I always assist in giving business owners the “keys” to the digital kingdoms. In the case here, Google had an incorrect marker location that we were able to fix. Dina was also able to embellish the Google listing with selected categories, hours of operation, credit cards accepted, and more.

Live Video Switching and Direction

I was able to direct two camera men and work a third, at the same time, as running a live feed video switcher for the main purpose of showing everyone in the venue the action close up.

Bernard Fowler, Waddy Wachtel, Phil Jones, Al Ortiz, Robert Davis perform She’s So Cold at the Ellicottville Depot. These guys slayed it!

NSAA National Conference Video

I was asked to submit a video for the NSAA National Conference, and I was selected! This was used as the opening vid that kicked off a weekend of talks at the National Ski Areas Association. My vision was to show how much effort it takes to get a mountain up and running, as most participants of the conference were ski area managers. The tweak scratching snow cats were silly but they fit the music well.
